Great start to 2014-2015 School year here at Brookview!

We have had a great time in the art room so far this 1st few weeks of school.

 The art room has undergone many changes this year......I have changed the set up of the art room to include learning centers.

K and 1st grade students experimented with various centers at their tables to become familiar with materials we use in the art room.  They are currently working on self-portraits and will soon begin still life artworks.

2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders have been learning about using centers and choice based art.  They are currently creating choice drawings where they select the subject and media for their artwork.  Here are some students working together to create still life artworks.  The choice based art studio provides an authentic art making experience for students.  It also allows them the ability to work with others on common ideas or create something on their own.

Summer Art Experience for Kids- Herron Youth Art Camp

Registration continues for Herron’s Youth Art Camp and Honors Art & Design running June-July. 

Youth Art Camp provides weekly, full-day sessions for 2nd to 10th graders. Camp is designed to be fun, informative and allow for self-expression. 

Honors Art & Design is an intensive teen summer institute for 16-18 year olds who are serious about art. Each two-week session will advance skills and build portfolios for careers as creative professionals.

April Artists of the Month
